Addiction Counseling

Addiction counseling is a specialized form of counseling that helps people better understand and change their relationship with substances, compulsive behaviors, and the patterns that surround them.
This work can include alcohol and drug use, but it may also involve behaviors such as pornography, shopping, gaming, technology use, or other habits that no longer feel aligned with your values or goals.
Addiction counseling combines clinical assessment, education, skill-building, accountability, and emotional support to help create meaningful and sustainable change.

As a Licensed Addiction Counselor, my work focuses on helping individuals understand and change their relationship with substances, addictive behaviors, and the patterns that support or sustain them. This may include exploring topics such as recovery, relapse prevention, cravings, coping strategies, relationships, stress, life transitions, and the impact of substance use on daily life.
Addiction counseling is centered on recovery and behavioral change. Together, we work to better understand what is happening, identify obstacles to change, develop practical skills, and create a path forward that feels sustainable and aligned with your goals.
Psychotherapy is a separate clinical service that addresses a broader range of mental health concerns and falls within a different scope of practice.
If at any point a client would benefit from services outside the scope of addiction counseling, I will help connect them with the appropriate level of care and support.
